I’m Not Your Typical Marketer
I didn’t take a conventional route into marketing. But then, I’ve never taken a particularly conventional route into anything.
I grew up in London, but my childhood was far from ordinary. My parents were professional musicians who worked on stage, which meant I spent my early years travelling between places, sometimes with an au pair, sometimes without, absorbing different environments and meeting all kinds of people.
I didn’t attend school formally until age eleven. But what I lacked in classroom time, I more than made up for in real-world experience, learning to read people, adapt quickly, speak with adults and people from all walks of life and from opposing ends of the social spectrum and find my footing in unfamiliar situations.
Real-world experience – a skill which is absolutely central to good marketing.
27 Years. Dozens of Sectors. One Consistent Approach.
I’ve spent 27 years working in marketing, sales and business development, across an unusually wide range of sectors; healthcare, automotive, telecoms, education, fostering, elderly care, the third sector and more.
That breadth isn’t accidental. I’m genuinely curious about how organisations work, what drives people to make decisions, and how the right message, delivered in the right way, to the right audience, can change the trajectory of a business. I’ve worked in-house, I’ve worked as a freelance consultant, and I’ve worked on short, high-impact engagements where there’s no time to warm up! You just have to get on with it.
I’m very typically Gen X in my working style. I don’t need hand-holding. I get on with the job, think creatively when the obvious route is blocked, and find the practical solution rather than the theoretical one. If something isn’t working; a website that nobody’s reading, a newsletter nobody’s clicking, a referral pipeline that isn’t converting, I want to understand why, fix it, and measure the difference.
From Plymouth to France and Working With You, Wherever You Are
I spent approximately 14 years in Dental field sales and covered both National as well as Regional positions in the South East of the UK and the Central and South West regions. I have a deep understanding of dentistry and still have clients and colleagues who became friends as well as customers.
In Plymouth, I have built deep roots in the Devon and Cornwall business and healthcare community, I’ve worked with a variety of organisations across the South West, from independent schools and private hospitals to recruitment and fostering, home help services and construction.
I now divide my time between the UK and France, but my work is entirely remote, and my focus remains firmly on supporting UK businesses. If anything, working across borders has sharpened my ability to communicate clearly, collaborate without being in the room, and deliver results without the need for unnecessary meetings.

Marketing isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being in the right place, with the right message, for the right people.
I’ve seen too many small businesses waste time and money on activity that looks busy but achieves nothing, posting daily without a strategy, running ads without tracking them, and redesigning logos when the real problem is the website copy. My job is to cut through all of that and focus on what will actually move the needle for your business.
